Wailin’ Wayne Woodbury

He’s a third generation guitarist that can really generate some hot Telecaster “WireFire”. His gutsy school of blues playing is marked by thick tones, aggressive attack and tons of technique, all delivered in a flamboyant, swaggering style that literally sets the stage on fire.

Blues roots run very deep with Wayne. Early influences such as BB King, Magic Slim, T-Bone Walker, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Wyonie Harris, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Sam “Lightnin'” Hopkinks, Otis Rush and Leadbelly are a few which simmer to the surface.

Don’t overlook the other musical roads he’s widely traveled. Add in the melodic and highly energetic styles of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Al DiMeola to name a few and you’ve got a recipe for raw excitement. Now temper that with the soulful styles of Jazz masters like Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell, Johnny Smith and Country greats such as Chet Atkins, Danny Gatton and Jerry Donahue.

What you’ll hear is a full measured blend of some of the finest musical influences of the past in combination with modern day style, flair and delivery. Wayne is considered by far one of the most unique Blues Rock Guitar players currently making the rounds here in the US.
